Ian Davis Enfield
Ian Davis has been appointed chief executive of Enfield LBC, where he has been director of regeneration and environment. He succeeds Rob Leak, who is retiring having held the post since 2003. Mr Davis joined Enfield from Hammersmith & Fulham LBC in 2007 as assistant director for environment.
nicholas khan
Suffolk Coastal and Waveney DCs have appointed Nick Khan as strategic director. The two councils are due to merge and be renamed East Suffolk Council in 2019. Mr Khan is currently an executive director with Rochford DC. He replaces Arthur Charvonia who has become joint chief executive for Babergh and Mid Suffolk DCs.
Cate Duffy Slough
Cate Duffy has joined Slough BC as strategic director of children, learning and skills. She was previously director of education at Waltham Forest LBC and interim director of education and early help with Brent LBC, prior to which she spent almost 20 years as a secondary school teacher.
Pat Hayes LBBD
Barking & Dagenham LBC has appointed Pat Hayes as managing director of its new Be First company, which will invest land and money in homes, infrastructure and jobs and has a target to make the council a £16m return over 10 years. Mr Hayes has been executive director of regeneration and housing with Ealing LBC for 10 years and has also worked for Transport for London and Lewisham LBC.
Waltham Forest LBC chief executive Martin Esom has become a part-time non-executive director of the Health and Safety Executive. An environmental health officer by training, Mr Esom became Waltham Forest’s chief executive in 2010. The directorship carries a £15,100 a year salary for some 30 days’ work.
