Subject: Your appeal
Our reference number: 2016/067409
Force reference number: PC/6804/13
Dear Mr Cordell
Thank you for your online appeal, received in this office on 20 February 2018. You asked us
to review the investigation of your complaint by the Metropolitan Police Service. This email
confirms that we have received your appeal. We have not yet looked at the issues you have
raised. Our role is to independently review the decisions and actions of the police, not to
reinvestigate your complaint. This will involve looking at all the points that you have raised
in relation to the investigation of your original complaint. We will contact the Metropolitan
Police Service to get all the information they hold about your complaint. This will be used to
assess your appeal along with the information you have submitted as your appeal. From the
date we received your appeal it may take up to 6 weeks for it to be allocated. However, it is
possible that your appeal may be allocated more quickly than this. If you wish to submit any
further information in support of your appeal, we would request that you do this within 7
days i.e. by 28 February 2018. Anything received after this date may not be considered.
Similarly, you will not be able to provide additional information for us to consider after a
decision is made on your appeal. Any decision we make is final. We have enclosed
documents with additional information. Please contact us if you have any other questions.
Yours sincerely
Sean Robinson
